| PODCASTING Making a difference With Podcasting in Education
Three Courses, see below |
Podcasting is a way to automatically download
digital audio files from the internet to iPods, Palm OS handhelds, Pocket PCs,
or other devices that play digital audio files. These audio files are usually in
MP3 format and can be recorded and distributed by anyone. Students can write for
a real purpose! The creation of the product is amazing because of the student
learning that takes place. Educators and students can reach a real audience and
communicate globally!
- There are podcasts recorded by educators for educators
- There are also podcasts recorded specifically for students.
- And best yet—there are podcasts made by students! Educators have a variety
of podcasts to choose from.
Educators can listen for professional development and students can listen to
learn new concepts. Once you get the hang of downloading and listening to
podcasts, you may want to try creating your own! |

It is extremely important that the non threatening nature of this exercise be
emphasized. All presentations are likely to be very different based upon the
particular expertise of the teacher and the nature of the material being
presented. The goal of the evaluation is not to be an entertainment icon, but
rather to convey the content in a meaningful way that will create effective
student learning.

concerns. Learning to be comfortable in front of a camera and judged by peers
